You may recall last week, when I dubiously lost 11 pounds. This week's measurement is much more accurate, since I'm using the same scale. It appears that after Week 2, I've lost almost 2 pounds. I find this completely acceptable, given the fact that I'm not doing any extra physical activity whatsoever, and I've only altered my diet.
I haven't eaten any fast food; I can't even imagine how many calories and dollars I've saved.
I've only been drinking water, coffee, and the orange juice I use in smoothies.
I've become a ninja at fighting temptation. I've only eaten sinfully-delicious-and-awful-for-you treats twice: once during Week 1* and once during Week 2**. Both treats were totally worth it***.
I've only eaten meat a couple of times: I made a frittata with ham for Mega-Brunch at the end of Week 1, and I've eaten a couple of turkey-hummus-avocado sandwiches when I needed a quick lunch.
Miraculously, I've had NO cravings for fast food, Coke, dessert, or meat at all, and I've been very good about portion control. This is the one thing I cannot figure out. Have I completely detoxed? Am I eating so regularly throughout the day that I'm maintaining a healthy balance in my blood sugar? I'm not complaining! This is just new to me. I feel pretty terrific. Onward to Week 3!
*My in-laws offered me ice cream, I didn't want to be rude!
**Coworker brought
in these amazing homemade donuts that I very rarely get to eat, I
couldn't pass up the opportunity!
***Although after eating the donut, I got an epic monster headache. I
definitely could not have eaten another one - which is weird, because
I've been known to eat three of them, if given the chance.
